Welcome to the Golden Retriever Club of Canada Website. The site has many new features, and to help you find your way around, I've included some brief answers to the common "How do I..." questions. You can click on the quicklinks below to get to the topic you need more information about.

Web Browsers
This website is best viewed with Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Avant Browser. Some features are not supported by all versions of Netscape. Screen resolution does not matter, but you can use full-screen mode to make the most of your screen area. Press your "F11" key to go to full-screen; press "F11" again to go back to the normal mode. In full screen mode you can see the address bar at the top of your browser by hovering your mouse close to the top of the screen.

About the Website
The "new" GRCC website has dynamic content. This means that each page can have a different look, with special content that appears only on certain pages. For example, the home page has a Search area which only appears on some other pages, such as the FAQ, where it is most useful to the reader.

There are many new features. A Webmaster's blog appears regularly on the home page to alert you to the latest news. Some of the other features are only accessible to registered Club members, and not the public. Members can create and participate in forums on various topics, they can vote on issues that the Board puts forth from time to time, and soon you can shop online, renew your breeders list and Club membership online and download your copy of Golden Leaves.

Navigating the Website

Getting around the website is easy. If you click on the thumbnail, you see an image of the home page with the main menu highlighted by a big red arrow. Click on the big "X" to close the image. You navigate to the various sections of the site by clicking on the main menu tabs.

To return to the front page, at any time, just move your mouse over the banner at the top of any page and click on the title "The Golden Retriever Club of Canada". If you click on the thumbnail, to the right, you see an image that shows how the link back to the home page shows up as underlined text when you hover your mouse over the title. Click on the big "X" to close the image.

Once you navigate to one of the website sections by clicking on a main menu tab, you open other pages using the secondary menu below the banner. If you click on the thumbnail, to the right, you see an image that shows where the secondary menu shows up. Click on the big "X" to close the image. The secondary menu items show up in bold to identify which page you are currently viewing. Go back to the home page by clicking on the website title.

What are "Breadcrumbs"?

If you click on the thumbnail, to the right, you see an image that shows where you find "Breadcrumbs". Click on the big "X" to close the image. As you navigate through the site, your trail is followed and a series of links or "breadcrumbs" are left for you just below the secondary menu. If you have navigated through a number of pages that aren't accessible from the menus, you can click on the breadcrumbs to find you're way back to the previous level. You just can't get lost!
